A Look at the Chinese Population
Population of China(2014)
This is a convex diagram showing the age structure of the population of China. It shows that, in 2014, the age range of 20~49 years old dominates the overall population of China. And the age distribution under 15 is relatively smaller. The age distribution of over 65 years old is overall smaller and decreases as the number gets bigger.
The population of China is growing, but in a slower rate than 30 years ago. The age distribution of the population has becoming more even and stable than decades ago. The sex ratio is mostly even, with the male population slightly bigger than the female population in some ages(The reason could be the preferring of sons). In the future, the distribution of age will become much more even, in a almost parallel graph, and the distribution of sex will also become slightly more even.
Statistics:(per 1000 people in 2015)according to Wikipedia
Birth Rate: 12.7
Death Rate: 7.11
Natural Change:4.69
Net Migration Rate: -0.32(More people are leaving the country)
Population Growth Rate:0.5%

Total Fertility Rate
Total Fertility Rate of China: 1.60 per woman.
One-child policy had huge impact on the total fertility rate in the last three decades. Families were encouraged to only have one child. Families which have additional children would be charged. Industrialization has improved the qualities of lives of the Chinese citizens. In the modern cities, it is getting a lot more expensive to raise a child, thus the couples will reconsider whether they really want a child more more children.
Women are more educated and are encouraged to have children later in life, especially in cities.
Sex Ratio
Total sex ratio: 1.06 men/women
In the Chinese culture, sons are valued more than daughters because they are regarded as the work forces and financial income of a family. Daughters, on the other hand, were traditionally regarded as persons who will be married out of the families. Although the impact is still visible, this aspect had significantly changed since the last century.
A Country in Development
GDP per capita: $7,590.0
Although China is the world’s second largest economy and GDP, its own GDP per capita is far behind the developed countries, which makes it a developing country. The government of the country is wealthy, but there is a large gap between its citizens' wealths . There are 150 millions people in China still living in poverty. Even many people of the nation have a very low income of 10 dollar per day.
China is facing a problem of stabilizing its population and maintain the economy growth at the same time.
China has the challenging issue of expanding public education into the poverty areas. 150 Millions of its population live in poverty and a big amount of children cannot access proper education.
Solutions to these problems could be: Encourage and educate families to have children later in their lives. Develop and promote birth controls in the country.

In the Future
People in China do not participate in voting, therefore the population change in sex ratio and age ratio would not have political influence.
China’s one-child policy has significantly decreases the population of one generation since the last 30 years, the working population will be much smaller than the current one when this generation grow up. In order to prevent this problem, China has lifted this policy in 2016, to balance the age ratio in the future. The age range of the 25-49 years of age is the largest, therefore there will be more services towards these people, like recreation services, legal services, etc. And after 30 years, when the old ages become larger, there will be more health services.
